The winter season is coming to an end so that means a change in the items to knit or crochet. I'm done with making the poncho, hats, scarves, and mitts for now and have started knitting shawls. I like shawls because they can be used throughout the year and not for just one or two seasons. A shawl is nice to have over the shoulders in a building where the air conditioning makes the air very chilly.
By the end of the weekend, I will most likely be knitting on three different shawls.
The first shawl I started is called "Boneyard Shawl" and is designed by Stephen West. I am using a nice wool yarn that is gray and will be warm and have a good drape to it. The second shawl that I will be starting soon is "Juliet" by Jane Campbell. I bought this pattern at the LYS this evening and I hope to meet Jane there tomorrow evening at her trunk show. For this shawl, I will be using Plymouth Yarn's Encore which is an Acrylic/Wool blend. The color is an off-white. For the third shawl, I will be using 3 different colors of yarn (shown in the accompanying photo) for the "3 Color Cashmere Shawl" by Joji Locatelli. This shawl is part of a Knit A Long with one of the groups I belong to at Ravelry.
I will have updates here on the progress of these three shawls. Who knows? I might sneak in a mini project now and then!
